Most game gets a sharp increase in users for a short period of time usually 14 - 30 days when something new releases then population drops off and it all goes back to normal. But contractually there is a hard cap put on the scalability as a service provider does not have an infinite amounts of infrastructure to handle every customer should there be an overlap between peak scaling periods. I think they've thoroughly demonstrated that in the past. It's because there is literally no financial incentive from a corporate perspective to fix the servers, they would only lose money from it and EA couldn't care less about their customers product satisfaction. There is a good reason the servers have been broken for years and will continue to be broken for the rest of the lifespan of Apex. Whales who spend hundreds on collection events every season (I love how they're called collection events, like church collection where they pass around the money box) and buy $20 skins throughout the year will always continue to spend big unless the servers are down more than they're up and they can't show off to other people what they've bought. They make billions each year because their servers are garbage.
